ABOUT US
A Local Kite School Built on Passion, Wind, and Community
Hi, I’m Sachin—born and raised in Kalpitiya. I grew up by the ocean and discovered kitesurfing right here, in one of the best spots in the world. After years as a guide and instructor, I started Kiteclub to share the wind, the waves, and the spirit of our village with others. When you ride with us, you’re not just learning a sport—you’re joining a local story, built by passion and powered by wind.

Seasons
There are two distinct kitesurfing seasons in Kalpitiya: the summer season runs from mid-May to mid-October, and the winter season runs from mid-December to mid-March.

Summer season
This is the prime kitesurfing season in Kalpitiya, with strong and steady winds blowing throughout the day. Average wind speeds are around 18–20 knots, often reaching up to 30 on peak days. Warm temperatures between 27–29°C and a mix of flat lagoon water and small waves make it perfect for both beginners and advanced riders.

Winter season
Winter brings softer, more relaxed conditions with wind picking up in the afternoons—usually between 15–25 knots. Mornings are calm and ideal for yoga, diving, or dolphin and whale watching tours. With temperatures ranging from 25–27°C and a mix of flat water and gentle ocean swell, it’s a great time for learning and exploring.
Accommodations
We offer a variety of accommodations, all within walking distance of the kite spot. At the lagoon, we offer boat transfers to ensure optimal conditions for lessons.
